Matthew Bondy

President, CPT

I was born and raised in Petoskey. I was always active, participating in multiple activities including multiple sports teams, theater, boy scouts and band. I excelled in track, ice hockey and soccer, which I was fortunate enough to play collegiately as well. I spent many summers working at Tim Bondy Physical Therapy and learned deeply about the value of personalized, quality care. After spending two years at Hope College, I made the decision to pursue one of my longstanding passions and moved to New York to study acting… and a little bit of psychology and politics.

After graduating from NYU, I jumped right into the artist life, going from audition to audition, in between bartending and co creating film and theater projects. It was during this time that I really began to focus on my physical health. As my acting career gained momentum, I began providing lifestyle and training tips to friends and fellow artists. The connection I found working with others who wanted to improve their mental and physical health proved deeply rewarding. As a result, I switched paths and began working as a personal trainer and fitness coach. My goal was to inspire healthy change in others, reflect a positive life, and enjoy the process.

In 2021, I was given the opportunity to take over my father’s long-established practice. My family and I made the move back to Petoskey and jumped headfirst into the new and exciting challenge of being business owners. It’s been a rewarding experience getting to know the clients and reintegrating myself back into the beauty of Northern Michigan. I hope to honor the path paved by Tim while turning an eye on the future. Keep a look out for new and exciting changes in coming years. In the meantime, please don’t be a stranger. I love meeting new people and I look forward to meeting you on your wellness journey.

Tim Bondy

PT, FOUNDER

Tim Bondy, PT is the founder of Tim Bondy Physical Therapy which he started in 1985. He grew up in Detroit and attended Harper Woods Notre Dame High School where he excelled in ice hockey. He attended Western Michigan University where he played hockey for two seasons before an injury ended his collegiate career resulting in a transfer to Wayne State University. He completed his physical therapy degree at Wayne State in 1976 and started his clinical career at the Rehabilitation Institute of Detroit where he gained clinical experience in the rehab of spinal cord and catastrophic injuries as well as serving as the physical therapist for the multidisciplinary Disability Evaluation Service at the Institute.

He moved to Petoskey in 1979 and was on staff at Northern Michigan Hospitals where he helped develop the outpatient therapy program. He was on staff at the Preventive and Rehab Medicine Center of the Burns Clinic prior to opening his own clinics in Petoskey and Harbor Springs. Tim developed a “whole person” and hands-on approach to the clinical care of injuries and conditions that has been recognized and maintained over decades in the clinics. He also developed and was the clinical coordinator for home care physical and occupational therapy for multiple counties in Northern Michigan with the Health Department of Northwest Michigan until its closure in 2018. Tim most enjoys guiding patients through their conditions and assisting them to become the best version of themselves, as well as guiding them in decisions needed to advance their functional outcomes.

Dr. Michael Johnson

PT, DPT

I’m Michael Johnson, originally from Flushing, just outside Flint, Michigan, where I spent my early years. My shift into physical therapy came after a decade-long career as a quality engineer. I realized my passion lay in helping people on a more personal level, tackling their physical challenges directly.

Graduating from the University of Michigan in 2012, I continued my education at Michigan State University, focusing on osteopathic techniques for manual therapy. Transitioning into physical therapy was a result of personal reflection and support from my family. With an engineering background, I thrive on problem-solving and enjoy connecting with clients.

Outside of work, I enjoy woodworking, though I’m still learning. I find peace in nature, often taking walks in the woods. Spending time with my grown children and our three Newfoundlands brings me so much joy.

Above all, what I value most in my job is making a real difference in people’s lives. Seeing their progress and hearing their appreciation reaffirms my dedication to helping them live fulfilling lives. I’m excited to join the team at Bondy PT.

Kimberly Healey-Pankratz

FRONT DESK MANAGER

I have worked for Bondy physical therapy for almost 20 years. My favorite part of working here is truly my coworkers. We are family and that is why I believe our patients continue to come back to see us because they also feel part of the family while they are here . I have lived in Northern Michigan my entire life and honestly I cannot imagine living anywhere else. When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband Lance gardening, kayaking, and fishing.

Occupational Therapy is my second career, forged after a tenure in restaurant and retail management. My educational path took me to Eastern Michigan University, where I graduated in 2013 with a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy. Before settling here in Petoskey in 2014, I grew up navigating between the Detroit and Ann Arbor areas.

The choice to pursue this career was a pivotal one – driven by a desire to contribute positively to people’s lives. Occupational therapy offers me a canvas to impact individuals on a holistic level. Beyond my professional pursuits, I find solace in meditation, the exhilaration of hiking, the satisfaction of gardening, and the thrill of gaming. Sharing moments with my wife, family, and friends is a cherished privilege. On a culinary note, the delights of Red Mesa in Boyne City and the BackLot in Petoskey hold a special place. And if you’re seeking Petoskey stones, the best hunting ground is behind D&W. Rooted in family, I’ve been married to my wife Rheann since 2000, and together, we share the joy of raising our son, Cole. Finally, my musical heart beats to the rhythm of the jam band scene – as a dedicated Deadhead, I find my groove. Join me as we explore the world of Occupational Therapy, personal passions, and the vibrant symphony of life.

With a Masters of OT from GVSU and 5 years of experience, my path has led me to the world of Occupational Therapy. This region, where I grew up in Petoskey and Harbor, holds a special place in my heart.

My purpose lies in aiding others through Occupational Therapy, making their lives more manageable and meaningful. On a personal note, I explore nearby parks and nature preserves with my spouse and our faithful dog, seeking tranquility and inspiration. When it comes to dining, Northwoods/Southwoods restaurant is a favorite. For budget-friendly, healthy groceries, Aldi is a hidden gem, though navigating through Bay View during summer’s hustle might not be the quickest route.

Having earned an Associate Degree in Applied Science in Physical Therapist Assistant from Macomb Community College in 2011, my educational foundation laid the groundwork for my passion in healthcare. My learning journey also extended to the Nursing Program at NCMC, and I further honed my expertise through certifications in Graston training and K-taping.

My professional journey has encompassed various settings, granting me a comprehensive understanding across all age groups. Rooted in compassion, my purpose lies in applying my skills to assist patients in achieving their functional goals.

Beyond my professional endeavors, my personal life is a vibrant tapestry. A devoted spouse and a proud parent of four children and six grandchildren, family is my cornerstone. Nature walks, the world of painting, and the lens of photography provide me with moments of solace and creative expression.

Judy Fouch

PT AIDE, FRONT DESK ASSISTANT

I have been with the clinic for almost five years. I was blessed with the opportunity to learn about physical therapy through job experience, in assisting the therapists as a technician. It was my original desire to pursue physical therapy in college, but I chose a different career path in business. It was only through semi-retirement that I had the opportunity to finally work in this field. I love my job, but what I love most is that I can help people and hopefully make a difference in their life.

I grew up in Lansing and moved out west for several years before returning to Michigan. I raised my family in Petoskey and it has been my home now for 34 years. I have two beautiful daughters and four adorable grandchildren. I also have two pets which have been part of my family for many years. My hobbies include swimming, kayaking, long walks, hiking, traveling, photography, and of course spending time with family and friends.

Linda Rundles

PT AIDE

My career experience encompasses 40 + years as a dental assistant, the last half working in Orthodontics. I grew up in the South Suburbs of Chicago and at age 13, my family moved to Denver, where I resided until 2020. Northern Michigan had been our yearly vacation destination for 22 years and it was our dream to retire and live here. My husband, Jeff and I have 6 children, all born and raised in Denver, 3 grandchildren with 2 more on the way! In 2021, I became a patient at Bondy PT and it became apparent that my experience in patient care would transfer nicely and I became part of the attentive and personal care team! The relationships and trust fostered here and the focus on the whole person is the my favorite reason for being here. I enjoy hiking, skiing, traveling, pickleball, reading and anything in or on the shoreline of our beautiful lakes.
